Mrs. Halicek loves all things art related. Rooted isn’t the only place that she loves to help people. She has served for three years, including two as the art instructor following her role as Kingdom Kids coordinator creating art-focused curriculum for the youngest students.
Drawing inspiration from her grandfather, who encouraged her to explore various mediums like her personal favorite, watercolors, she fosters creative freedom in her classes, adapting projects for diverse skill levels and needs—such as offering tracing options, multiple project adaptations, and multiple materials to accommodate any sensory issues—while integrating a biblical worldview by viewing art as a way for Christians to connect with God the Creator and express worship through beauty.
With five years in children’s church ministry and a deep love for working with honest, curious kids who remind her to be a lifelong learner, Mrs. Halicek cherishes the small family like environment filled with Jesus’ presence, mutual care among students, and memorable projects like family gifts that promote generosity. Outside of teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, and taking every opportunity to take a road trip.
