Mrs. Stenman’s Bio

Mrs. Beth Stenman

High School Art Teacher

Mrs. Stenman is a Spartan! She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with minors in English and Social Science from Michigan State University.

She has used this degree to teach in the public school realm for nine years. During that time she continued to develop her love of art and an ability to pass that on to her students. Mrs. Stenman brings to Rooted a wonderful combination of attributes including the perspective of an informed biblical worldview, a wife, mother, and educator. You add to this mix a true love for art and what you are left with is a dynamic ability to pass on to students an appreciation for beauty.

She has been married for over 30 years and is the mother of three children, one of whom attends Rooted. Mrs. Stenman stepped away from teaching in order to be a stay at home mom and raise their children. However, as anyone who pays attention, this only means that you just don’t get paid to be a teacher, because once a teacher, always a teacher. In addition to her family and being involved in a family owned business, Mrs. Stenman fuels her passion and love of art by creating it herself by way of another passion of her’s, growing both roses and hydrangeas.

Although, it may be said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the beholder can benefit from being taught what to look for, which is another task that Mrs. Stenman is well equipped for and excited to be able to facilitate with the high school students of Rooted.
